Ricardo Cruz-Mendoza, a 43-year-old Latino, tragically lost his life on January 31, 2017, in Los Angeles, California. According to the Los Angeles County coroner's records, Cruz-Mendoza was shot in the 900 block of West 74th Street in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. while Cruz-Mendoza and a companion, Fidel Campos, 24, were walking in an alley.
