Rene Cabrera, a 26-year-old resident of East Palo Alto, was tragically shot and killed in East Oakland on March 11, 2017. Cabrera's body was discovered around 7:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Dashwood Avenue, near Arroyo Viejo Park. According to police reports, Cabrera had traveled to Oakland to meet someone, though the details of this meeting remain unclear.
