On February 22, 2019, Javier Ramirez Cruz, an 18-year-old resident of Arvin, California, was tragically killed in a shooting incident. The incident occurred near the Casa De La Paloma Blanca Apartments on Haven Drive. According to reports, officers from the Arvin Police Department responded to a call about shots fired around midnight. Upon arrival, they found two Hispanic men suffering from gunshot wounds.
