Carl Stevens Bridgewater Sr., a 31-year-old African-American male, was found deceased on Thursday, November 17, 2011, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His death came nearly a year after his wife, the well-known bounce rapper Renetta 'Magnolia Shorty' Lowe, was also killed in the city.
At the time of his own untimely passing, Bridgewater was eagerly anticipating the birth of his son, Carl Bridgewater Jr.
The circumstances of Bridgewater's death were grim. Around 3:19 in the afternoon, authorities discovered his body lying next to a vehicle in the 3300 block of Loyola Avenue. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. His murder marked the 181st homicide in New Orleans that year.
