On July 28, 2024, Khristopher "Buddy" Lewis, a 32-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in the Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene. Two other individuals—a 64-year-old man and an 11-year-old boy—were also injured in the incident and transported to a hospital for treatment.
