In the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, a grass-cutting crew made a grim discovery on the afternoon of Monday, February 4, 2013. On a lot near the intersection of North Miro and Benton streets, they found the body of a man who had been shot to death. The victim was identified as Anis Valentine, a 26-year-old male from Houston who was in town visiting. An investigation by the Orleans Parish coroner's office determined that he had died from multiple gunshot wounds.
