In the early morning hours of November 28, 2015, the vibrant energy of New Orleans' French Quarter was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of 26-year-old Brandon Robinson. An African-American male, Robinson was a familiar face in the area, known to work and socialize in the bustling 300 block of Bourbon Street. It was there, outside a bar, that a street altercation tragically escalated.
The incident began as a fistfight that spilled out into the crowded street at
approximately 1:30 a.m. Amid the chaos, a firearm was drawn, and multiple shots were fired. Robinson was struck in the abdomen. Emergency services responded quickly, transporting him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal. The shooting sent shockwaves through the community, a stark reminder of the persistent issue of violence in the city.
In the aftermath, the New Orleans Police Department launched an intensive investigation. Detectives utilized surveillance footage from the area, which captured the events leading up to the shooting. This critical evidence allowed them to identify a suspect, 22-year-old Terry Mack. An arrest warrant was issued, and Mack was later apprehended in Baton Rouge on unrelated charges. He was subsequently extradited to New Orleans to face a charge of second-degree murder in connection with Brandon Robinson's death.
