In the early hours of a Monday morning in New Orleans, the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the Metairie Road exit became the scene of a violent crime that claimed the life of 25-year-old Travis Thomas. On May 6, 2013, shortly before 3 a.m., Thomas and another man were traveling in a silver Nissan Maxima when they were both struck by gunfire.
