In the autumn of 1910, a dedicated Caucasian police officer, Michael McMahon, a 43-year-old male, tragically lost his life in the line of duty in Troy, New York. On the evening of Monday, October 10th, Officer McMahon was responding to a domestic disturbance call. As he approached the front door of the residence, he was met with sudden and fatal gunfire.
The violent act that cut short Officer McMahon's seven-year career with the Troy Police Department did not go unanswered. A suspect was apprehended in connection with the shooting. Following an investigation and legal proceedings, the individual was convicted of the murder of Officer Michael McMahon. In 1911, the convicted killer was executed at Clinton Prison for his crime. Officer McMahon was survived by his wife and six children.
