In the autumn of 1978, a whirlwind romance in New York City came to a tragic and violent end, leaving more questions than answers. Kim Schmidt, a 31-year-old German art gallery employee, had recently married the Academy Award-winning actor Gig Young. Their life together, however, was shockingly brief. Only three weeks after their wedding, on October 19, 1978, the couple was discovered dead in their apartment at The Osborne on West 57th Street.
