Gary Stymiloski, a 27-year-old police officer from Westchester County, New York, tragically lost his life on February 24, 1985. Officer Stymiloski was conducting a routine traffic stop on the Saw Mill Parkway in Yonkers when he was fatally shot. The suspect, Alex Mengel, a 30-year-old unemployed tool and die maker from the Bronx, exited his vehicle and shot Officer Stymiloski three times.
