Detective Richard J. Guerzon, a 46-year-old veteran of the New York City Police Department, tragically lost his life on November 13, 1989, in Queens, NY. Guerzon, along with his colleague Detective Keith Williams, was transporting a prisoner back to Riker's Island after a polygraph test at the Queens District Attorney's Office.
