In the winter of 1995, just six days before Christmas, the festive spirit in a Bronx shoe store was shattered by a sudden and brutal act of violence that claimed the life of 25-year-old Henry William Lucero-Inga and four others. On December 19th, a man named Michael Vernon, 22 years old at the time, entered the Little Chester Shoes store near the Bronx Zoo, sparking a chain of events that would end in tragedy.
