James Michael Brannon, aged 60, was found dead on September 19, 2016, in the Bronx, New York. His decomposed body was discovered at the Hammond Cove Marina, located on Reynolds Avenue in the Locust Point section. The body was found inside a crate under a dry-docked boat, wrapped in plastic and stuffed in a 7-by-3-foot box. The medical examiner's office ruled Brannon's death a homicide, determining that he died from a gunshot wound to the head.
