In the early morning hours of a Tuesday in the Bronx, tragedy struck 36-year-old Dashan Carver. On November 17, 2020, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Carver was in front of 341 E. 194th Street when he was approached by at least one individual. In a sudden act of violence, a firearm was discharged, and Carver was struck in the torso.
Following the shooting, the assailant, or assailants, fled the scene in an unknown direction, leaving Carver gravely wounded.
He was transported by private means to St. Barnabas Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Dashan Carver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The New York City Police Department launched a homicide investigation into Carver's death. In the months that followed, authorities sought the public's assistance in identifying a person of interest. A surveillance photograph of an individual wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting was released. The police have urged anyone with information to come forward to aid in their investigation. As of early 2021, no arrests had been publicly announced in the case, and the identity of the suspect or suspects remains part of an ongoing investigation.
