On October 5, 2023, at approximately 8:29 p.m., 47-year-old Bronx resident Anwar Stokes was fatally shot at 985 East 174th Street in the Charlotte Gardens neighborhood. Responding to a 911 call, officers from the 42nd Precinct found Stokes with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

As of December 2024, no arrests have been made in connection with Stokes' murder, and the investigation remains ongoing. The NYPD has not release ...Read More
