Death by Force

On October 5, 2023, at approximately 8:29 p.m., 47-year-old Bronx resident Anwar Stokes was fatally shot at 985 East 174th Street in the Charlotte Gardens neighborhood. Responding to a 911 call, officers from the 42nd Precinct found Stokes with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
