On September 3, 2018, at approximately 9:24 p.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting a man shot opposite 124 Eames Place. Upon arrival, officers discovered Pierce with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Emergency medical services promptly transported him to St.
Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The initial investigation into the death of Christopher Pierce began with no immediate arrests, leaving a void of uncertainty. Jonathan Colon, 20, and Julio Ozuna, 19, both from the Bronx, were taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder. Nearly a year later, on March 10, 2021, a third suspect was apprehended in connection with the murder of Christopher Pierce. Nazeem Francis, a 21-year-old resident of Queens, was arrested and also charged with second-degree murder.
