In the late afternoon of April 18, 2008, a sense of normalcy was shattered in the parking lot of an AutoZone on South Salina Street in Syracuse, New York. It was there that Gustavo Soto, a 24-year-old Black male, was found inside a vehicle, having been shot multiple times. At approximately 4:19 p.m., the Syracuse Police Department responded to a report of shots fired and discovered the tragic scene.
