On a Memorial Day in 2008, what should have been a festive gathering turned into a scene of violence that ended the life of 19-year-old Robert Adams. The young man was fatally shot on May 26, 2008, at the Central Islip Recreation Center in Islip, New York, in front of a large crowd of people who had gathered for the holiday. Two other individuals were also wounded during the incident. The shooting was not a random act of violence but was believed to have stemmed from a feud between rival gangs. ...
