Michael Malik Evans, a 54-year-old homeless man, was found fatally shot in Central Islip, New York, on November 26, 2018. Officers discovered Evans' body on Suffolk Avenue, near Church Street, at approximately 12:55 a.m. He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The initial investigation revealed that a vehicle was seen fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting, but no immediate arrests were made.
