Akeal Christopher, a 14-year-old boy from Brooklyn, New York, tragically lost his life on June 27, 2012. Akeal was walking home with friends in the Bushwick neighborhood when they encountered another group of young men. An altercation ensued, during which someone from the other group pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots. Akeal was struck in the head by one of the bullets.
