Akeal Christopher, a 14-year-old Black male, was enjoying a summer evening with friends after leaving a graduation party in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn on June 27, 2012. As the group of friends walked near the intersection of Cornelia Street and Evergreen Avenue, they were tragically met with gunfire.
