In the early morning hours of June 20, 2010, the sound of gunfire echoed through the South Side of Binghamton, New York. At approximately 12:22 a.m., Binghamton Police were dispatched to 12 Webster Court following a 'shots fired' call. Upon their arrival, they discovered the body of Darnell B. Fields, who was also known as Bobby Womack, lying in the hallway just outside the door of his apartment. He had been shot multiple times, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.
