In the early hours of a summer morning in Binghamton, New York, the life of 33-year-old Darnell B. Fields, a man also known by the nickname 'Bobby Womack,' was brought to a violent and abrupt end. On June 20, 2010, at approximately 12:22 a.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the night on the city's South Side, prompting calls to the Binghamton Police Department. When officers arrived at 12 Webster Court, they discovered a tragic scene.
