David Wayne Smith Jr., a 43-year-old police officer from Binghamton, NY, tragically died on March 31, 2014, while on duty with the Johnson City Police Department. Officer Smith, who had served the department for 18 and a half years, was responding to a disturbance call at a healthcare facility in Johnson City when the incident occurred.
