Richard Salvia, a 50-year-old Chinese food deliveryman, was tragically murdered on April 2, 2014, in Staten Island, New York. Salvia, who had been working at the Crown Palace Chinese restaurant for less than a week, was dispatched to deliver food to a new customer at 244 Grandview Avenue, a desolate and high-crime area in Mariners Harbor. Upon arrival, he was ambushed and shot in the head. Despite being rushed to Richmond University Medical Center, Salvia succumbed to his injuries.
