In the summer of 2014, a violent encounter on a Brooklyn street tragically cut short the life of 34-year-old Donn Wynn. On the evening of July 6th, Wynn was in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood when gunfire erupted in front of 180 Lefferts Place. He was struck by the bullets, as was a 32-year-old woman named Tamecca Haskins.
Both Wynn and Haskins were rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. Haskins succumbed to her wounds shortly after the attack.
For nearly three weeks, Wynn fought for his life. However, he ultimately died from his injuries on July 27, 2014. Donn Wynn was a Black male.
The shooting, which claimed two lives, left the local community in a state of shock and mourning. The New York Police Department launched an investigation into the double homicide. Despite their efforts to piece together the events that led to the shooting, the case proved challenging.
Authorities reported that no immediate arrests were made in connection with the murders of Donn Wynn and Tamecca Haskins. The motive behind the targeted attack remains unclear, and the perpetrator or perpetrators have not been brought to justice.
