In the early morning hours of Halloween in 2020, a visit home to Brooklyn turned fatal for Sheldon Nyack, a 32-year-old male. Originally from the Flatlands neighborhood, Nyack had been living in Naples, Florida, where he worked as a security guard. He was back in his old neighborhood, utilizing an Uber to get around. Just before 2 a.m., he asked the driver to make a stop on Avenue H, near East 53rd Street. It was during this brief stop that the night took a violent turn.
