Akaijah Evelyn, a 37-year-old resident of Brooklyn, New York, tragically lost his life on September 1, 2016, in a violent incident that shocked the Crown Heights community. On that fateful night, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting on Saint Marks Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Evelyn with a gunshot wound to the chest.
