In a tragic turn of events that shook New York's high society, Thomas Gilbert Sr., a 70-year-old male and wealthy hedge fund founder, was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on January 4, 2015. He had been shot in the head. The scene was initially staged to appear as a suicide, with the gun resting on his chest.
