In the late hours of February 16, 2015, the life of 43-year-old Andrew Abston was cut short in what should have been the safety of his own residence. Abston, a male resident of Utica, New York, was discovered in the parking lot of the Six Nations apartment complex with a fatal gunshot wound. Despite the presence of a high fence and security personnel, an unknown assailant managed to carry out the attack within the secured area.
Police were called to the scene around midnight, but Abston succumbed to his injuries shortly after their arrival.
The investigation into Andrew Abston's murder was met with immediate challenges that have left the case unsolved for years. While the Utica Police Department initially had what they considered to be promising leads, their efforts were significantly hampered by a lack of cooperation from potential witnesses.
