In the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, a burst of deadly violence shattered the afternoon calm on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Just after 3 p.m., police received a 911 call and responded to the Gowanus Houses on Baltic Street. There, in front of the building at 423 Baltic St., they found 21-year-old Leroy Olmstead on the pavement. The young male had sustained a single, fatal gunshot wound to his torso.
