Hector Nieves, a 43-year-old resident of the Bronx, New York, was tragically killed on June 9, 2015. He was found lying on Hoffman Street near East 187th Street in the Belmont neighborhood, approximately a mile from his apartment in Fordham. Nieves had been shot in the back of the head and was discovered by police around 10:50 p.m. Emergency responders rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
