On a September night in 2015, violence erupted on East Amherst Street in Buffalo, New York, forever altering the lives of two men. In the late hours, around 10 p.m., the sound of gunfire echoed through the 400 block, drawing a swift response from Buffalo Police. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered a chaotic and grim picture. Two individuals had been struck by bullets, one critically injured and the other clinging to life.
