In the quiet village of Sloatsburg, New York, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the life of 64-year-old Patricia A. Nigro. On the morning of Wednesday, October 21, 2015, law enforcement responded to a call from a concerned family friend regarding emotional distress at the home Nigro shared with her husband, William Groesbeck, 69, on 3 Adams Court.
Upon their arrival shortly after 10 a.m., police discovered the bodies of both Nigro and Groesbeck inside their residence.
The initial investigation pointed towards a grim conclusion: a murder-suicide. It is believed that Groesbeck shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself. The Rockland County Medical Examiner's Office was tasked with determining the official cause of death for both individuals.
