In the early morning hours of December 1, 2015, the life of 28-year-old Shoshane Rattigan was tragically cut short in her Bronx apartment. A single gunshot to the head ended the young mother's life, a violent end to what neighbors described as a tumultuous relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Tyrone Lowe. The fatal shot was fired just before 4 a.m. in her Bogart Avenue home, while her young son and 20-year-old nephew were in an adjacent room.

Rattigan and Lowe moments before the gunshot shattered the morning's quiet. They also recounted a history of domestic disputes, with some stating that Rattigan had been physically abused by Lowe. Following the shooting, Lowe was seen fleeing the apartment and driving away in a gray Honda Odyssey.
The New York Police Department immediately identified Tyrone Lowe, 30, as the primary suspect in Rattigan's murder and launched a search for him. He was considered armed and dangerous.
