In the Williamsbridge neighborhood of the Bronx, a 31-year-old first-grade teacher named Jessica Hoyle was found shot to death in her home on Mickle Avenue on April 1, 2025. Police responded to a 911 call about an assault in progress just after 11 p.m. and discovered Ms. Hoyle with a fatal gunshot wound to her head. Emergency medical services pronounced her dead at the scene. The incident was investigated as a domestic one.
