Jihad Jackson, a 16-year-old from Queens, New York, was tragically shot and killed on December 31, 2015. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near Merrick Boulevard and 109th Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. Jihad had been visiting family in Washington, D.C., but returned to New York early because he was homesick. On the night of his death, he was at a friend's house, despite his mother's advice to stay inside. He was shot in the neck and became the last murder victim of 2015 in New York City.
