Francisco "Frankie" Tejeda, a 35-year-old resident of Syracuse, NY, tragically lost his life on March 27, 2016. Tejeda was shot in the early evening on the 300 block of Tioga Street, near Skiddy Park on Syracuse's near westside. The incident occurred while he was coming to the aid of a 10-year-old boy who had also been shot. This event marked one of the many homicides that contributed to making 2016 the deadliest year in Syracuse's history, with a total of 31 homicides recorded.
