In a tragic and senseless act of violence, a young man from Queens, NY, lost his life in what police believe was a road rage incident. The 24-year-old male victim, identified as Anthony Ali, was shot and killed in Richmond Hill.
On the night of the incident, Ali was driving his blue BMW when he was struck from behind by a black Infiniti sedan at the intersection of 89th Avenue and 116th Street. Following the collision, an argument ensued between Ali and the driver of the Infiniti.
The verbal altercation quickly escalated, culminating in the other driver pulling out a handgun and firing at Ali.
After being shot, Ali attempted to drive away, but tragically crashed his car into a light pole just blocks from his home. First responders found him unconscious on the street with gunshot wounds to his head and chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members were left devastated by the sudden loss. His aunt recounted that he had told his parents he was just going out for a drive and would be back soon to walk his dog. Friends remembered him as a good person who was focused on promoting his jewelry business.
