On a late Sunday evening in Wyandanch, New York, the promising future of 18-year-old Malik Stoddart was tragically cut short. On September 4, 2016, Stoddart, a young male, was standing with a group of friends at the corner of Irving Avenue and Doe Street when gunfire erupted at approximately 11:25 p.m. He was fatally struck and pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old companion was also wounded in the shooting but survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
