Yong Yun, a 31-year-old NYPD officer, tragically passed away on January 17, 2017, in Staten Island, New York. His death was the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the neck. The incident occurred in his home in the Arden Heights neighborhood around 5 a.m. that morning. Despite being rushed to Staten Island University Hospital South, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Yun was a ten-year veteran of the NYPD, serving in the 120th Precinct at the time of his death.
