In the early hours of a summer Friday in Brooklyn, the life of 26-year-old Aboubacar Fofana was cut short by a sudden burst of violence. On July 14, 2017, at approximately 3:26 a.m., Fofana was behind the wheel of a parked Ford Edge SUV at the corner of Parkside Avenue and Parade Place, accompanied by two friends, when the tranquil night was shattered by gunfire.
