On the night of July 16, 2017, tragedy struck in Mount Vernon, New York, when 27-year-old Orville Bell, a male resident of the city, was fatally wounded in a brazen shooting. The incident occurred at approximately 11:16 p.m. near the intersection of South Columbus Avenue and Sargent Place. First responders discovered Bell unresponsive, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head, torso, and left leg.
