On a Sunday afternoon, March 27, 2016, a young man by the name of Jovelle Stewart was fatally shot in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting in Mount Vernon, New York. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on North High Street. Stewart, who was either 20 or 21 years old, was sitting in a friend's car when multiple shots were fired. Tragically, he was struck in the head by a single bullet and succumbed to his injuries before he could be transported to a hospital.
