On a summer evening in Yonkers, New York, tragedy struck on Warburton Avenue. It was the night of July 25, 2017, when 26-year-old Malik Kavon Clemons, a male resident of Yonkers, was fatally shot. Shortly after 9:30 p.m., the sound of multiple gunshots pierced the air, prompting a police response to the front of a building at 369 Warburton Avenue.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a chaotic scene. A 29-year-old man was found with a non-life-threatening graze wound to his leg.
Amid the initial investigation, police were informed of a second victim, Malik Kavon Clemons, who had been rushed to a local hospital by private means. Clemons had sustained a gunshot wound to his torso and, despite medical efforts, was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
