In the autumn of 2017, the life of a young Manhattan man, Malik Campbell, was tragically cut short. The 23-year-old male was fatally shot in the head on the afternoon of November 3, 2017. The incident unfolded amid an argument outside a building in the Jacob Riis Houses complex in the East Village. Witnesses reported hearing three gunshots and seeing Campbell on the ground. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
