On April 15, 2024, at 6:48 p.m., the Decatur Police Department responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 800 block of South Jasper Street in Decatur, Illinois. Upon arrival, officers found Darrell D. Coon Jr., a 65-year-old resident of Decatur, deceased from a gunshot wound.
