On Christmas Day in 2017, Jarvis Porter, a 35-year-old male, was fatally shot in Rochester, New York. The incident occurred inside an apartment building on Genesee Street where Porter was confronted by two men, Joshua Burns and Elzie James, who were armed with a loaded shotgun. Porter was shot in the face and died from his injuries.
