In the winter of 2019 in Syracuse, New York, the life of 36-year-old Kawon Monk Chavis was tragically cut short. On the evening of January 2nd, Chavis, also known as 'Monk,' was fatally shot in the hallway of an apartment building at the corner of South Salina Street and Corning Avenue.
