Death by Force

Kawon D. "Monk" Chavis, aged 36, tragically lost his life on January 2, 2019, in Syracuse, New York. Chavis was fatally shot at the Corning Arms Apartments on South Salina Street. When police arrived at the scene, they found him with at least one gunshot wound to the upper part of his body. Despite efforts to save him, Chavis was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident marked the first homicide in Syracuse for the year 2019.
