On August 29, 2023, at approximately 7:18 p.m., 23-year-old Kelvonn Godbolt was fatally shot in the 1900 block of South Avenue in Syracuse, New York. Godbolt had ridden his bicycle to a local convenience store to purchase drinks in anticipation of celebrating his 24th birthday the following day. Tragically, he was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the hospital.
